DT – 8th of July, 2010, Bagdad/ Iraq
In one of the deadliest incidents of terrorism on the soil of Iraq, as many as 50 people are dead that also include the 32 that have become the prime target of suicide bombing. The core targets of the suicide bomber were the pilgrims that had come for the commemoration of the revered saint. This was conformed the Iraqi police personnel.

The police further confirmed the reports that these deadliest attacks took place in Azamiyah, which is the Sunni neighborhood of north Bagdad. This attack seemed to be an act of retaliation to destabilize the country and to exploit the political vacuum once again in the country of Iraq.
As per the police sources, this bloody attack took place at the time when the pilgrims were about to cross the bridge that led to the shrine located in the Shiite Kazimiyah neighborhood, the burial ground of the revered imam.
The faithful pilgrims seemed to be undaunted by such deadliest attacks. As per the spokesperson of the security forces, Major-General Qassim Atta, complete measures were taken to protect the worshippers which also included special safety measures that also included the road closures for the adequate protection of the worshippers.
As per Edmund Ghareeb, professor of Middle East studies at the America University of Washington, this sectarian violence is because of the inability of the politicians to form a successful government.
